Sen. Richard Burr (R-NC) and Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R-1st-VA) Receive HSC Congressional Leadership Awards

On June 8, 2006, the Home Safety Council gathered Congressional and business leaders at Washington’s J.W. Marriott to celebrate home safety champions at the “Salute to Home Safety Awards Dinner.” Several awards were presented throughout the evening, including the HSC Congressional Leadership Award, which honors members of Congress for their commitment to protecting public from unintentional home injury.

The Congressional Leadership Award recognizes national leaders who work tirelessly and effectively on behalf of the American public. This year, Rep. Jo Ann Davis (R) of Virginia and Senator Richard Burr (R) of North Carolina were honored for being at the forefront of safety issues and championing programs that address education, health and safety, and national preparedness.
