Welcome Back to the 109th Congress The Home Safety Council (HSC) would like to welcome back all returning Members of Congress and extend a special welcome to all newly-elected Senators and U.S. Representatives as they return for the 109th Congress. We look forward to working with you in the future. HSC is dedicated to educating Americans on the importance of adopting better home safety practices to prevent injuries and save lives. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, HSC is dedicated to helping prevent the nearly 21 million medical visits that result on average each year from unintentional injuries in the home. Through national programs and partners across America, HSC works to educate and empower families to take actions that help keep them safer in and around their homes. In December 2004, HSC sponsored and participated in Falls Free: Promoting a National Falls Prevention Action Plan, a two-day conference dedicated to older adult falls prevention, an issue that impacts millions of Americans each year. HSC is also on the steering committee for the May 2005 injury prevention conference sponsored by CDC’s National Center on Injury Prevention and Control, the National Association of Injury Control Research Centers (NAICRC), and the State and Territorial Injury Prevention Directors Association (STIPDA). We hope you will use the Home Safety Council as your resource for home safety information. If we can ever be of assistance, please contact Patricia H. Adkins at 202-349-1100 or Amgad Naguib at 703-741-7506. |
