Free Living with Sprinklers Video and Laminated Riser Tag The nonprofit Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) now offers free educational materials for families already living in sprinklered homes. The new Living with Sprinklers materials are designed to inform families about their sprinkler system and demonstrate how to use and maintain it properly. Included are a new video and a laminated riser tag describing the sprinkler system. The Living with Sprinklers kits are available to fire and life safety educators at no charge, for use in sprinklered developments. It can be ordered online or by calling toll-free 1-888-635-7222. The Home Safety Council is a member of the HFSC Steering Committee. Additional Free Residential Fire Sprinkler Presentation Materials The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) Web site offers free downloads to help fire and life safety educators teach the public about the importance of, and the availability of residential fire sprinkler systems. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control (CDC) is offering a free tool kit to help prevent older adult falls and fall injuries. Download print-ready, color and black-and-white brochure PDFs in English and Spanish, for use in your community home safety education outreach. CDC titles available: “What YOU Can Do to Prevent Falls” and “Check for Safety: A Home Fall Prevention Checklist for Older Adults.”

In partnership with the National Disaster Education Coalition (NDEC), the Home Safety Council provided development of this new, free, standardized source of information on preparedness for various types of disasters. The guide fills the need for a single source on disaster preparedness that is current, accurate and in the public domain. The guide provides the latest, most up-to-date information and messaging on disaster preparedness and safety in the United States. It includes standardized safety messages on 19 natural, technological, and human-induced hazards as well as general disaster preparedness and safety topics. The guide represents the product of hard work and collaboration of many professionals affiliated with the organizations composing the NDEC, which include 20 U.S. government agencies and national not-for-profit organizations, including the Home Safety Council.
