Niki Pereira, Fire Safety Specialist

Niki Pereira is Fire Safety Specialist with the Alaska Injury Prevention Center, managing the Anchorage Youth Firesetting Program since 1995. Niki worked in the fire service for 22 years, in firefighting, public fire education, fire inspection and fire investigation in Utah, Washington and Alaska. She has worked with children who misuse fire since 1979. Niki is an NFA instructor, teaching JFIS I & II nationally. She was an original steering committee member for the King County (WA) Fire Stoppers program and has been a member of the NFPA 1035 Committee (Professional Qualifications for Public Fire Educator) since 1996 and assisted in development of the stan-dard’s JFIS section.
