Home Safety Council Online Community Guidelines

The Home Safety Council’s Online Community is a place where you can keep up on the latest news from the Home Safety Council and engage in respectful conversations with the team at the Home Safety Council, as well as with fellow Expert Network members, teachers and parents interested in home safety information.

The goal of the forum is to create conversation around helpful home safety tips and information. Respectful and friendly interaction is the key to maintaining conversation within our online community. We ask that you respect the discussion guidelines included below. Comments will be moderated and any comments falling outside of the discussion guidelines will not be published and/or may be removed.

Discussion Guidelines for Home Safety Council Forum
and Blog Participants

1. The Home Safety Council Online Community aims to be a place for honest, friendly and courteous conversation. Please try to be respectful of the opinions of all posters in the Home Safety Council Online Community. We welcome everyone to have a voice here. The more voices who participate, the better. Please feel free to add your questions or thoughtful commentary to the conversations within our forums and blogs. The Home Safety Council team will be reading!

2. The Home Safety Council Online Community is about sharing the Home Safety Council’s safety information with its registered community of members. Please keep any comments or questions you post related to the subject matter of the Online Community. Off-topic or spam entries will be immediately deleted. If you have a question or concern not relating to the topics addressed in the online community that you need to communicate to Home Safety Council staff members, please submit a new post with your question.

3. The Home Safety Council does not endorse products. Please do not use the Online Community to sell or promote your product.

4. Do not post anything that could offend another member of the Online Community. Do not post anything obscene, vulgar, sexually explicit, illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, humiliating, defamatory, libelous, invasive of someone else’s privacy, or objectionable. It is in Home Safety Council’s sole discretion to determine what content is offensive. And, it is in Home Safety Council’s sole discretion whether it will remove any content that is considered offensive. 5. We ask for your information when you register on HSC.org. This will not be published on HSC’s Web site, forum or blog, but will be used to verify your comment and possibly to contact you in relation to your comment. We will read all comments and respond as quickly as we can. We may not be able to always respond to all comments or questions, but rest assured that all posts will be read. Sometimes it may not be possible for us to publish or respond to your comment immediately (especially outside of business hours), but we will try to do so as quickly as possible.
