Program Awards
Home Safety Council's award-winning programs educate and empower families to take actions that help keep them safer in and around their homes. The following programs have been recognized by leading organizations in the fields of volunteerism, public relations, marketing and Web site development.
Great Safety Adventure
Cause Marketing Forum: Gold Halo Award
The Home Safety Council and Lowe's received the 2004 Gold Halo Award for best cause marketing event at the 2nd Annual Cause Marketing Forum. The Cause Marketing Halo Award honors companies and organizations who give back to the community through creative and effective cause-marketing campaigns.
American Marketing Association (DC Chapter): Marketer of the Year
In 2006, the DC chapter of the American Marketing Association presented the Home Safety Council with the Marketer of the Year award.
American Marketing Association (DC Chapter): Nonprofit Campaign
In 2006, HSC received a Nonprofit Campaign award from the American Marketing Association for its work on the Great Safety Adventure.
SABRE Award Finalist: Marketing to Youth
In 2006 and 2007, the Home Safety Council was an Award Finalist in the category of Marketing to Youth for its work on the Great Safety Adventure and Weekly Reader programs. The SABRE Awards recognize superior achievement in both branding and reputation.
Home Safety Literacy Project
Institute for Healthcare Advancement: 2006 Health Literacy Award - Innovative Program
The Institute for Healthcare Advancement presented the Home Safety Council with a 2006 Health Literacy Award for their work on the Home Safety Literacy Project. The Health Literacy Award is given to programs which advance the delivery of healthcare by demonstrating innovative healthcare practices or educating healthcare professionals and consumers.
Home Safety Month
Public Relations Society of America - Silver Anvil Award
In 2006, the Home Safety Council received a Silver Anvil for their 2005 Home Safety Month Campaign. The Silver Anvil is awarded annually to organizations who have successfully addressed a contemporary issue with professional skill, creativity and resourcefulness. They meet the highest standard of performance in the profession.
Media Relations
Public Relations Society of America - Silver Anvil Award
The Home Safety Council received a Silver Anvil in 2006 for its continued media relations to advance the issue of home safety. The Silver Anvil Awards recognize complete programs incorporating sound research, planning, execution and evaluation. Silver Anvils are awarded annually for excellence in public relations.
"Story Time" Public Service Announcement
Telly Awards: Finalist
In 2005, the Home Safety Council's "Story Time" PSA was honored as a Telly award finalist. As the largest and most prestigious award of its kind, the Telly Awards honor the finest creative work in advertising, video and film production.
