September 22, 2008 Marked National Falls Prevention Awareness Day

Home Safety Council congratulates the Senate on passing S. Res. 674 establishing National Falls Prevention Awareness Day. HSC thanks Senators Michael Enzi and Barbara Mikulski for their leadership roles and Senators Richard Burr and Orrin Hatch for cosponsoring the legislation.

Home Safety Council also thanks the House of Representatives for introducing and supporting a similar resolution (H. Res. 1478), sponsored by Representatives Frank Pallone and Ralph Hall. The resolution had 25 other cosponsors and a Congressional Record Statement by Representative Tim Mahoney.
